Advantages :

• Free energy
• Energy which is better for the environment
• Renewable energy
• Very well suited for domestic hot water in addition to heating with fossil fuels (gas and oil)
• Very well suited for pool heating
• Produces more than 60% of domestic hot water
• Well suited for heating buildings for low temperature heat distribution networks

Disadvantages :

• Initial upfront investment
• Requires the addition of another source of energy
• Requires significant storage for heating
